Bed & Breakfast La Casa nel Borgo (Drizzona, Italy)

La Casa Nel Borgo B&B is in a neoclassical building of the late eighteen century recently renovated. It’s located in the small rural village of Castelfranco d’Oglio, province of Cremona. The building has been renovated in compliance with the original architectural structure. In 2011, when we bought it, the house was in the utter degradation: a black granite had been glued over the original terracotta tiles on the ground floor; on the first floor they had been replaced by an awful blue carpet, worn by time. Garden was an immense concrete casting and the attic was the shelter of all the pigeons of the village. Moreover, according to reported stories of the old people of the village, once inside the house there were antique fireplaces and fountains whose now any trace has been lost. ​However, the old building has slowly been brought back to its former glory. We succeeded in recovering the original terracotta tiles floor in two bedrooms. The blue carpet has been thrown away and replaced with wooden and marble; concrete in the garden has given way to green lawn, plants and flowers. The whole house, and in particular our four bedrooms, is completely furnished with antiques.
