A grand Grade II Victorian house only 3 minutes’ walk to the centre of Tavistock, a historical World Heritage Site in Devon. Whether you are looking for a host of activities, places to explore, visiting family and friends, on a business trip or just simply looking to relax, we will ensure you have a memorable stay with us. The Duke of Tavistock is in a Grade II listed Victorian House built between the 1820s and 1840s by the 7th Duke of Bedford, Francis Russell. All along Plymouth Road, the Duke built the Georgian and early Victorian villas for the gentry, professional classes and wealthy citizens of his time and was regarded as the 'Champs-Elysees of Tavistock. Having recently been sympathetically renovated and modernised, the house still contains period features including sash and stain glass windows, fire places, original cornicing and original oak flooring. All rooms have been fitted with modern en-suite facilities, chandeliers and contemporary furnishings, ensuring that our guests have a comfortable and relaxing stay with us. We have our own private and secure 'customer car park' at the rear of the property accessed via Chapel Street for your convenience.
