The Indus River Camp is a 42 acre natural sanctuary on the banks of the Indus river. It is just 7 kilometres from the city and airport yet the only buildings in sight are the monasteries perched on the mountains that surround us. The property has 5 luxury Riverside Tents and 2 Riverside Cottages. Each comes complete with double beds, luxury mattresses and linen and bathrooms with hot water showers. Relax and acclimatise on the bank of the Indus river away from the bustle of Leh city; have a refreshing swim in the pond and taste the famous Sea Buckthorn berries that grow on the land. You can read a book from our diverse library, explore ancient local monasteries and villages for an insight into Ladakhi culture. For adventure, you can hike neighbouring Stok Kongri (6,200 metres), motorbike through the world's highest motorable road, white water raft on the neighbouring Indus river and when the sky becomes a great, open air cathedral and the milky way arches above like a cosmic rainbow, enjoy the view by the warmth of a camp fire
