The Engine is a traditional Cornish Inn, adjacent to the B3311 between St. Ives and Penzance, with spectacular moorland views from the beer garden to the rear. Nearby are Zennor, with its legend of the mermaid, Chysauster Iron Age village, the world famous Minack theatre, overlooking the sea, Land’s End and the beautiful beaches and coves of this area. The pub has a large car park opposite, but with a public footpath running to the rear of the property and its own paddock, ‘The Engine’ is also ideally situated for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Parts of the building date back to the 1700’s and in its time it has been both the counting house for the local tin mine and a farmhouse, before its most recent incarnation, some decades ago, as a hostelry. Nowadays ‘The Engine’ is a thriving ‘local’ at the very heart of the community. Accommodation is in a separate converted, grade II listed barn to the rear of the main building and the two rooms retain a rustic charm. Trencrom, on the first floor, has a king size bed, en suite shower room and spectacular views. Trink, the ground floor room has a super-king size bed & a wet room suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
