Casa dos Assentos it’s an old main house (prior to the 17th century) of an ancient farm, separated now from agricultural activities. The remaining property is now totally converted into gardens and integrated in the "Turismo no Espaço Rural" (Rural Scheme) of the Alto Minho Region in Northern Portugal. Open to guests since 1984, within the concept of "Turismo de Habitação – Turism in Manor Houses", Casa dos Assentos offers six comfortable rooms and three apartments (in a total of 7 Doubles and 6 Twins), a very pleasant garden with two swimming pools and a tennis court. Casa dos Assentos is centrally located in the Minho Region, making easy to explore the Northern Portugal with short drives to its major Cities, National Parks and beautiful beaches . “Caminho de Santiago” is in a very short distance, passing some few hundred meters far from the House. Barcelos is right at the heart of the Minho, with Viana do Castelo and beaches 25 km West, the Peneda Geres National Park and Braga/Guimarães cities some 25/35 km East, Porto 70 km to the South, and the Spanish border only 70 km away. Casa dos Assentos is the ideal place to explore and get acquainted with the oldest and most traditional region of Portugal, its friendly people, its delicious gastronomy and famous wines.
