On the site of a former 16th-century monastery Hacienda Cocoyoc is surrounded by tropical gardens and boasts fountains, pathways and even a chapel. The hotel, catering for conferences up to 1200 people, includes a spa and many leisure facilities. There are 284 rooms and suites in total, designed in a typical Mexican colonial style. Some of the luxury units feature their own private pools. Hacienda Cocoyoc hosts three communal swimming pools, as well as a nine-hole golf course, tennis courts, a gym and some horses. The complex also incorporates no less than 20 events rooms. Guests are spoilt for choice for places to dine, with four different settings available: La Chispa, Talavera, Arcos and Mangos. The hotel is just over two kilometres from the Six Flags Hurricane Harbor water park, and roughly 15 minutes' drive from Club Campestre Lomas de Cocoyoc golf course.
