Promised Land Retreat has three separate chalets nestled amongst 100 acres with spectacular views of the Great Dividing Range. The fully equipped chalets are architect designed and show true craftsmanship with great attention to detail. In each you'll find everything you need for a luxury self-contained holiday - modern appliances, reverse cycle air-conditioning, spa bath, sun drenched deck, and queen beds. We also have wifi, netflix and spotify in each chalet. The chalets are elegantly simple. We care about quality so that your stay can be most enjoyable. Our chalets are impeccably maintained, so you can focus your energy on being on holiday. Sink in those views, play tennis or explore the surrounds. We have two 2-bedroom family chalets at the western end of the property, catering for up to five guests each, separated by trees and entirely private. The two bedroom chalets are perfect for a couple, two couples, a small group of friends or a family. If you need a disabled bathroom access then you should select Tallowood chalet. The 1-bedroom couple's chalet sits by itself on the eastern edge of the property, making it the perfect romantic retreat. You will probably spend a lot of time on the decks. The chalets have almost 180 degree views of the rolling hills with the forested mountains beyond. And the climate in the Promised Land means you can indulge yourself outside, even in winter with dry warm sunny days. Facilities There is a games room on-site which houses a pool table, ping pong table and tennis rackets and balls for the tennis court (fully synthetic with night lighting). We also have five mountain bikes available for our guests to use. At the back of the games room is a laundry facility with washer, dryer and ironing board/iron. Bellingen We are a relaxed 15-minute drive to Bellingen. People can pick up all their supplies in Bellingen and take in the vibe of this beautiful town. You can also enjoy the range of cafes and restaurants and live music which is available several nights per week in different restaurants or bars. Interaction with guests We live in a house on the 100 acre property and are available for check-in or any queries you may have. There is a lot of privacy here so you can have as little or as much interaction as you would like. Why the Promised Land is the location to stay Ask three locals why it’s called the Promised Land, and you'll get three different answers - but it’s not hard to imagine why the first settlers in this region would have felt like the chosen ones. Pretty soon this impossibly lush region was flowing with milk, if not honey. But this place is more than a collection of vistas and beautiful spots to swim and relax. There's a magic in this valley - whether it's the ever present mountains or the clear waters trickling down them - we'll let you ponder that. The Promised Land starts after Gleniffer to the South and comprises the land in-between and surrounding a large loop road. Driving around this road will take you though forest, past several swimming holes and get you even closer to those impressive mountains. The Never Never Creek runs from the plateau through the Promised Land - passing close to Promised Land Retreat. The public reserve just down the road from the property is a great spot to relax on a hot day, the mountain waters and forests cooling the air and the water is impossibly clear and inviting. Just around the corner you'll find another swimming hole at Gleniffer - and easy cycle ride from Promised Land Retreat. Adventurous cyclists should know there are lots of tracks in this region, and experienced trekkers might like to hike up the creek to the impressive falls, that you - no doubt - will have to yourself. It's a stunning, peaceful, restorative part of the world to experience nature and escape the hustle and bustle of city living.
