Located 1 mile off I-70 between Wichita and Denver, Oakley’s Kansas Country Inn provides a relaxing stopping point while traveling along I-70 and an ideal location whether you are in the area for touring, biking, or visiting one of our local attractions: Buffalo Bill Visitor Center and statue tells the story of William F Cody and the legendary hunt that took place near Oakley and won Buffalo Bill his title. Chalk Pyramids and Monument Rocks are 25 miles south of Oakley on Highway 83. Fick Fossil and History Museum is only minutes away and has interesting and large dinosaur fossils. Scott Lake State Park and wildlife area 25 minutes from Oakley is a surprising oasis nestled in the prairie of Western Kansas. Rich in history, this park provides an ideal setting for boating, swimming, hiking, hunting, fishing, and wildlife observation. Hunting is allowed at the adjacent public hunting area.
