Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge (London, United Kingdom)

Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge is located in Chingford, North London. The timber framed Tudor era building dates back to 1543 and is still situated in the middle of the woodlands of Epping Forest. The property used to serve as a grandstand in Tudor times, when the Royal hunt would come for a visit to shoot deer from the upper floor. Guests would have been served refreshments as part of the Royal Hospitality and modern visitors can enjoy an exhibition that will introduce them to the stories and history of the Royal Hunt. Displays include a Tudor kitchen which aims to inform what kind of dishes would have been served in Elizabethan days, and on the upper floor there are displays of the typical clothing of the time. Further on-site amenities include toilets, baby changing facilities, a gift shop and a tea-room. Car parking facilities can be found within easy walking distance across the road. The admission is free.
