Acajou Hotel (Grande Riviere, Trinidad and Tobago)

Acajou is a small, eco-friendly, family-run hotel situated on Trinidad’s beautiful and dramatic northern coast in a little fishing village of Grande Riviere. Our hotel, a collection of traditional cottages, is nestled between the beach, a crystal-clear river, and lush rainforest-covered mountains. With a décor that boasts Indonesian, Polynesian and Japanese architecture, our cottages offer a feeling of serenity. We are perfect for a staycation or family getaway in Trinidad. A group of friends or a family of four can anticipate comfortable accommodation as our rooms are outfitted with a king-size bed and a convertible sofa bed. One of our cottages has a sleeping loft with two single beds. After lounging in tranquillity, visitors can select delicious meal options from our in-house restaurant menu. We offer our guests confidence in knowing they consume locally grown vegetables and fruits harvested from our garden or local farmers. In addition, guests enjoy not only the ambience of the surroundings but fascinating nature trails, viewing Leatherback turtle nesting and bird watching. Also, there are opportunities for exhilarating surfing and hikes for those more adventurous.
