The Relais Monastero Santa Teresa, a historical monument, is a Baronial Palace of the thirteenth century, which was converted into a cloistered Monastery of the Discalced Carmelites in 1600, following the donation of Baron Sambiasi to the church. It is located in the old town centre of Nardò, next to the Bishop Palace and the Cathedral. Today, the Relais offers itself as an ideal place to spend a relaxing holiday in an ancient and prestigious building, near the most beautiful beaches of Salento, the National Park of Porto Selvaggio and the most important baroque towns. The spacious bright rooms with antique floors and frescoed ceilings recall the charm of the nobility from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. The balconies and terraces of the Palazzo offer breathtaking view onto baroque churches and the garden. The ground floor leads to the Monastery with its impressive high vaults sculptured by Tarantino and the medieval church, which make it a perfect place for any type of ceremony and event.
