Disneyland Park (Anaheim, USA)
Explore the Magical Kingdom of Disneyland Park
Operating since 1955, Disneyland California is the first of six Disney-themed parks in the world, and continues to be one of the most visited amusement parks in the world. Walt Disney himself oversaw the development of the area, which he named Disneyland Resort.
Currently, Disneyland consists of two parks, Disneyland itself and California Adventure Park. They are located opposite each other, making it easy to hop from one to the other during your visit.
Outside of the two parks, the resort also features a more grown-up area called Downtown Disney, where you will find upscale shopping and dining, as well as a lively night scene. This is the place to go after the park closes if you’re still in the mood to have fun.
Unless you’re on a very short visit, both Disneyland and California Adventure Park are worth visiting. However, if you only have to choose one, Disneyland is a must-see. If you’re into more thrill rides, such as rollercoasters, you will definitely enjoy California Adventure.
See Why Disneyland Park is the Happiest Place on Earth
Disneyland Anaheim remains a beloved spot for both kids and adults. If you’ve never been to any of the Disney theme parks, you’ll quickly see why.
Both Disneyland Park and California Adventure Park are divided into “lands”, each of which is unique and feels like a different city. You might be familiar with some of them, such as Tomorrowland or New Orleans Square.
Carsland, located within California Adventure, is one of the newest areas. In May 2019, Disneyland welcomed another addition, Star Wars Land.
When visiting Disneyland Park, don’t miss out on meeting some of the beloved characters, such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse or one of the Disney princesses.
If you manage to stay until the evening, Disneyland Park puts on an amazing fireworks show. The show is normally held daily, usually near park closing time, but they may not be available on certain days during the off-season.
Disneyland Accommodation Extends Outside the Main Resort
Disneyland Hotel was the first and original hotel within the resort. Although none of the original buildings remain after multiple upgrades and refurbishments, the hotel is still operating to this day.
Currently, there are only three hotels inside the Disneyland Resort, but there are endless accommodation options surrounding it. Hotels in the area are often not expensive. Although if you are looking for luxury, there are are plenty of high-end places to stay.
Most Anaheim hotels cater to park-goers, so shuttle services are often offered. However, quite a lot of them are located within walking distance. It is worth booking a place close to the park to save on parking fees. If you’re sticking to a budget, keep in mind that you may also be able to purchase park tickets at a discount directly from the hotel.
