Eurostar is a passenger train service running from London St Pancras International through the Channel Tunnel to Paris and Brussels. Connections are available to destinations across Europe. En route the service also calls at Ebbsfleet and Ashford in Kent, and Calais and Lille in France. Additional services include a direct link to Disneyland Paris, a summer service to Avignon and a winter service to the French Alps. The service began with the opening of the Channel Tunnel in 1994, with the London terminus at that time at Waterloo. Since then the completion of the high speed rail link across north Kent in 2007 has reduced journey times to Paris to approx 2 hours 30 minutes and to Brussels to 2 hours 20 minutes. Non-stopping services reduce these times further. Trains can reach speeds of 186 mph, reduced to 99 mph in the tunnel. There are 17 daily services to Paris and 11 to Brussels. There are 3 classes of travel, standard, standard premier and business premier, with the premier classes having access to better seating, faster check-in, complimentary refreshments and in-seat service. All the stations have car parks and departure lounges.
