    Fotheringhay Church (Fotheringhay, United Kingdom)

Fotheringhay is a small village with a surprisingly large church which dates to the time when this small Northants village was a very important place. The church was built in the 15th Century and is the burial place of Dukes and Duchesses of York including the parents of Richard III. When Mary Queen of Scots was locked up in the nearby Fotheringhay Castle, it is believed that she was given a room overlooking the (protestant) church to remind her constantly of the ‘error of her ways’ in being a Catholic. The Church receives a lot of support from the Richard III Society who endowed it in 2000 with a new Organ.
