International Airport Kraków Balice (Kraków, Poland)
Balice is the airport for Krakow and the main international airport for the whole of south-eastern Poland. Germany, Italy and the UK are covered well and there are also flights to major cities in other European countries as well as to New York, Chicago and TelAviv. Low-cost airlines dominate and London has the largest number of connections of all destinations. There are also flights to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol and Dublin. It takes 2.5 hours to reach London. There are two buses that serve Balice (40mins from Krakow). The airport is located on the A4 motorway (Katowice-Krakow toll) and can be reached in about 1h from Katowice. Inside the terminal, there are car hire desks, banks, cash points, travel agents and a post office (limited opening hours) plus several catering and shopping establishments. Most of the latter are located at mezzanine level, where a newsagent and a couple of gift shops can be found, as well as a cafe and a restaurant.
