Roman Theatre and its Surroundings and the Triumphal Arch of Orange (Orange, France)
Situated in the French department of the Vaucluse, in the town of Orange, this Roman theatre is classed world heritage by UNESCO since 1981. Built by the Romans, in between 10 and 25 AD, it is one of the best preserved of the great Roman theatres. Since 1869, during the summer, the oldest French festival, the “Chorégies d’Orange”, takes place in the theatre and attracts 10000 spectators each year.There is also a museum to visit, with divers objects found during different archaeological searches.
