Whitesands Bay (St. David's, United Kingdom)
Whitesands Bay, near St Davids, has received both the Blue Flag and the Seaside Award. It is a sandy beach where you can go surfing, wind surfing, swimming or canoeing. About ten minutes’ walk away, along the coastal path to the north, is Porthmelgan, a quieter beach that has sand, a waterfall and caves. As well as its lifeguard service during the bathing season, Whitesands Bay has a first aid point, a café, shop, slipway, toilets and offers disabled access. Parking is available nearby, and in summer there is a bus from St Davids to Whitesands. Dogs are not allowed on the beach from the beginning of May until the end of September. Accommodation of various types is available in St Davids, where there are also shops, restaurants, pubs, cafés and a National Park Visitor Centre.
