Petco Park Stadium (San Diego, USA)
Opened in 2004, the PETCO Park baseball stadium has replaced the Qualcomm Stadium as home of the San Diego Padres. The stadium has been designed to blend in with the area and the neighboring park has been integrated into the landscape. The stadium offers more than 42.000 seats, all with lots of leg-room and cup-holders. tViews over the city of San Diego can be enjoyed from the signature towers and terraces and a standing platform and the fan shop can be accessed from the 98-year old historic Western Metal Supply Company Building, which has been totally restored and incorporated in the structure of the stadium. Further amenities include a restaurant with views over the playing field, party suites and, 80 feet above the ground, bleacher seating and standing room on the roof. The stadium is connected to the local transport system of San Diego, but also offers plenty of parking facilities. For those who would like to see the stadium, but want to give the baseball a miss - there is also a stadium tour available. It includes entry to the “writers box” (where the journalists usually jot down their notes), a visit to one of the exclusive premier lounges, the dugout of the Padres and more. Since November 2005 the stadium also hosts concerts, tradeshows and other events.
