When this attraction first opened in 1984 it consisted of a tropical greenhouse which housed butterfly species from around the world as well as other tropical insects, including spiders. Since this time the venue has expanded and now includes a bird of prey centre, a pets corner and a baby animal sanctuary. Today, it is a place of education for local school children and also a sanctuary for endangered species. In the gardens and grounds there are nature trails, ponds and farm animals. The opening times are: Between April and September it is open between 10am until 5pm Monday through to Friday and until 5.30pm on Saturdays, Sundays, Bank Holidays and during school holidays. Between October and April it is open between 11am and 4.30pm Monday through to Friday and until 5pm on Saturdays, Sundays, Bank Holidays and during school holidays.
